Nottingham Forest have rejected a transfer request from Grant Holt. The 26-year-old striker arrived at the City Ground from Rochdale in a �300,000 deal in January 2006.
Holt was the club's top scorer in his first full season at the League One club scoring 18 goals and Carlisle and Preston are reportedly interested.
He started his career at Workington and also played for Halifax, Barrow and Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Rochdale for �10,000.
