Pleat worked with Calderwood at Tottenham

Pleat was Tottenham's director of football when current Forest boss Colin Calderwood was reserve team manager.

Calderwood said: "David won't be in and around the club every day but we will be in contact over the phone once, twice or three times a week.

"He has a good understanding of the game. I understand his strengths and we have a relationship which will be healthy and prosperous for the club."
