Norwich City manager Bryan Gunn is confident of tying winger Lee Croft to a new contract.
The 23-year-old scored five goals for City this season and his current deal expires in the summer.
He has been linked with Premier League and Championship clubs, including West Brom, Stoke and Birmingham.
Gunn told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We had a chat with Lee, these things don't happen quickly. We'll continue to hope that we get a positive outcome."
Croft joined the Canaries from Manchester City in summer 2006 in a 600,000 deal and has played 115 games for the club.
He has established himself as a favourite with the Carrow Road faithful after a series of hard-working displays on the right wing.
Gunn has made no secret of his desire to keep Croft and get him to agree a new deal since becoming Norwich manager.
