Norwich City fans will get their chance to say goodbye to Darren Huckerby at Carrow Road on Sunday.

The mercurial winger was released by Glenn Roeder last week, prompting furious reaction from fans who believe Huckerby deserved a proper farewell.

A special tribute will now take place during the 'Greatest Ever' event at Carrow Road, with Huckerby attending.

R&B singer Jamelia and X-Factor finalists Rhydian and Ray Quinn join club legends on stage for the event.

It will be an emotional day for all of us who have been nominated but it will be a lot of fun as well.

Huckerby, who played over 200 games for Norwich in just over four-and-a-half years at Carrow Road, said he was honoured by the recognition.

"I am really looking forward to the 'Greatest Ever' event, Norwich is a great club and has been a great club for me.

"The list of former players coming back to the club is a Who's Who of Norwich football and it is an honour to be included on the list and recognised for my career here," he added.

The club has been collecting votes from supporters to select a 'Greatest Ever' team, 11 players plus a manager, with key players from the club's history also getting their vote.

Awards and presentations will be held in between the musical performances.

And Huckerby said he is looking forward to meeting some of the club's heroes.

"Of course it will be an emotional day for all of us who have been nominated but it will be a lot of fun as well.

"I'm sure the people who turn up will enjoy the day, when else are you going to see all these guys again in the same place?

"It will be a good chance for all the ex-players to get together and chat about their memories."
