Young striker handed Norwich chance
Nigel Worthington
Nigel Worthington has been impressed by Bloomfield
Norwich City have signed teenage striker Danny Bloomfield a professional contract until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old Felixstowe and Walton United striker impressed during a three-game trial with City's reserves over Christmas.

"We have signed young Danny until the end of the season with a view to extending that time if he does well for us," said new City boss Nigel Worthington.

He told the club's official website: "It is a great opportunity for a young lad from a local non-league club and hopefully he will take his chance.

"From a Norwich City point of view this proves we are doing our homework at all levels and if a player shows he has some qualities we will be there to assess him and possibly provide opportunities for him."
