Northwich Victoria striker Lee Steele has been named as the Blue Square Premier player of the month for March.

Steele, 34, topped a fans' poll after scoring eight goals in March as the Vics moved out of the relegation zone.

The former Shrewsbury and Oxford forward's award made it a double for Northwich after Dino Maamria also won the manager of the month prize.

Kettering forward Craig Westcarr and St Albans City keeper Paul Bastock won the prizes in the North and South.
