Northwich have re-signed Gretna defender Mark Birch - who had a two-year spell with the Vics between 1998 and 2000 - on a season-long loan. The 29-year-old, who can play at full-back or in central defence, has not made a first-team appearance for Gretna since September 2006.
Birch spent the second half of last season on loan at Northwich's Conference rivals Southport.
He left Northwich for Carlisle in 2000, before joining Gretna in 2003.
