![]() | Tuesday, 4 December, 2001, 17:07 GMT Quinn's plea to Bardsley Northwich Victoria manager Jimmy Quinn is trying to persuade former England international David Bardsley not to hang up his boots. Bardsley has joined the Conference club after a league career that spanned more than 500 games with Blackpool, Watford, Oxford and Queens Park Rangers. The 37-year-old is nearing the end of his playing days but Quinn believes he can be useful in helping Northwich stay clear of the Conference relegation battle.
"He's had one or two injuries and was in two minds about whether to carry on or not. "But he's very experienced and even though he's only played two or three games he's done well. "Every time he gets an injury he feels like packing it in but I would like him to keep playing. "As long as he's enjoying it and contributing to the team that would be no problem." | Other top Northwich Victoria stories: Links to more Northwich Victoria stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||
