Harrad has scored 17 goals this season

Northampton Town striker Shaun Harrad says the squad are low on confidence after going 15 matches without a win in League Two.

The 4-2 defeat by Bury on Saturday leaves them two points above the relegation zone.

"Confidence is low in a few players but we care about this club," Harrad told BBC Radio Northampton.

"I came here to be at the other end of the table. I can honestly say that we're hurting."

The former Burton Albion forward scored twice in the defeat at Sixfields, taking his tally for the Cobblers to four goals in 13 starts since his January move.

"We adapted to the way I play in the second half, got in behind them and I was happy with how I took the goals, but we conceded sloppy goals again," he said.

"We're looking over our shoulder now. We've got to pick ourselves up and we'll be in trouble if not."
