Kyle Walker will now stay at the Sixfields until the January transfer window

Northampton Town have ensured they will keep defender Kyle Walker at Sixfields until the January transfer window.

The 18-year-old's initial deal expired after Saturday's 1-0 home victory against Carlisle.

Walker joined the Cobblers in mid-November from Sheffield United and is now due to return on the 1 January.

The teenager, who can play at either right back or in the centre of defence, was a regular in Sheffield United's reserve team earlier this season.
