Former Gillingham defender Danny Jackman has put the record straight over his recent move to Northampton. Jackman moved to Sixfields on a Bosman free transfer, but insists that reports he had already agreed a new deal with the Gills were wide of the mark.
"It was a hard decision. In my mind it was 50-50 for signing or rejecting (the contract) - I was leaving my options open," Jackman told BBC Radio Kent.
"It got put around that I'd pretty much agreed to stay but it wasn't the case."
