Newport County continued their fine pre-season preparation with a 1-0 friendly win over Football League new boys Stevenage at Spytty Park.

The newly-promoted Blue Square Premier side maintained their unbeaten record as striker Craig Reid scored a cracker just minutes into the second-half.

Reid's strike was his fifth this pre-season for last season's top-scorer as County won their fifth successive game.

Stevenage keeper Chris Day also needed to save a good Gary Warren header.
