Steve Stone handed Newcastle first-team coach role
Stone played the majority of his 400 games at Nottingham Forest
Steve Stone has been promoted to first-team coach at Newcastle as new manager Alan Pardew shapes his backroom team.
Stone, who worked as Peter Beardsley's assistant with the reserves, is joined by Willie Donachie who moves from the academy to become development coach.
Andy Woodman comes in from Charlton as goalkeeping coach while former Magpies player Beardsley continues his role.
"I am sure they'll all do a tremendous job," said Pardew, who wants to appoint a further first-team coach.
"Keeping Peter with the reserves is important too as he has done a terrific job with the younger lads this season."
Pardew guided Newcastle to a 3-1 home win over Liverpool in his first game in charge of the Magpies on Saturday.
