Nacho spent six months on loan at Monaco last season

New Valencia signing Ignacio 'Nacho' Gonzalez has joined Newcastle on a season-long loan deal.

The midfielder joined the Spanish side from Uruguayan club Danubio and signed a four-year deal at the Mestalla, but immediately moved to St James' Park.

A statement on Valencia's website said: "Nacho Gonzalez has become a new player at Valencia - he will play on loan this season at Newcastle."

The 26-year-old has made 21 international appearances for Uruguay.
