Taylor sure of Magpie turnaround

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor believes the club can end their winless run when they travel to high-flying Aston Villa on Saturday.

United have gone nine league games without a win but Taylor feels that time is ripe to end that barren spell.

He told BBC Radio Newcastle: "If we stick together we can get ourselves out of it, we've been in a worse position.

"We're a top quality side anyway and there's no reason why we can't go and beat these top sides."

A disallowed Michael Owen goal was a key talking point from Sunday's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough but Taylor believes the players just need to get on with the game.

"It's happening all over the Premiership. Every game there seems to be a decision that's not going well," said the 22-year-old.

"You can't do anything about it. If players argue they get booked, if they keep arguing you get sent off so you got to let the gaffer do the talking."
