Solano rejoined Newcastle from Aston Villa in August 2005

Solano has been handed a one-year deal by new boss Sam Allardyce while Krul has penned a four-year extension.

Peruvian winger Solano, 32, is in his second spell at Newcastle and showed his versatility last season by filling in for Stephen Carr at right back.

He was in talks with former Magpies boss Glenn Roeder before Allardyce was appointed on 6 May.

Krul is currently on international duty with Holland U21's at the European Championships.

He made his name with a string of stunning saves in Newcastle's 1-0 Uefa Cup win in Palermo last season before a knee injury kept the 19-year-old out for the rest of the campaign.

Krul said: "Newcastle is a massive club and I really wanted to stay here. Shay (Given) is a fantastic goalkeeper, one of the best, as is Steve Harper.

"It will be hard challenge for me but in a few years I hope I can challenge them."

Krul added: "I am allowed to go on loan for next season, so we are looking for a club now. We are waiting for clubs, maybe Championship. We will have to see."
