Newcastle manager Graeme Souness saw his side draw 1-1 with champions Chelsea and then told his players they must do better next season. He said: "It's good to end with a draw and not a defeat and if we can bring in a few players, we can challenge Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
"This season has been difficult on and off the pitch.
"But if we can get the players in we've been targeting and avoid injuries to key men we can have a good season."
