Newcastle winger Nolberto Solano is reported to have walked out on the Premiership club.
The Peruvian was left out of the Magpies' squad for Saturday's north-east derby against Middlesbrough by manager Sir Bobby Robson.
And he responded by driving away from the Riverside Stadium before kick-off and not watching his team-mates complete a 1-0 victory, according to The Sun newspaper.
Solano and Robson have clashed on previous occasions when the 28-year-old has put playing for his country before representing Newcastle.
The Peru international's display of defiance is likely to earn him a club fine, and may even spell the end of his five-year stay on Tynesside with the transfer window re-opening in January.
