Motherwell lost out to Steaua Bucharest last season

Motherwell will start their quest for Europa League qualification next month against Icelandic opponents.

Craig Brown's side will play Breidablik from Kopavogur in the second qualifying round of the tournament.

The first leg will be at Fir Park on Thursday 15 July, with the return taking place on 22 July.

Motherwell lost out to Steaua Bucharest in the third qualifying round last season after beating Llanelli and Flamurtari from Albania.

Breidablik are currently second in the Icelandic top flight, having won four and drawn two of their first eight fixtures.

Hibs, who finished one place above Motherwell in fourth spot in the Scottish Premier League, enter in the third qualifying round, while Scottish Cup winners and third-placed Dundee United enter in the final play-off round.

The draw for the third qualifying round takes place on 16 July.
