Motherwell assistant manager Scott Leitch says the club are ready to make their first moves in the summer transfer market.
The Lanarkshire side have failed to sign a single player so far, with Ross McCormack and Martin Grehan both leaving the club.
However, Leitch claims that a player could arrive by the end of the week.
"We hope to confirm a deal on Friday to give us our first transfer of the summer," he told the club's website.
"Over and above that, the manager and I are looking everywhere for new players.
"We've been absolutely inundated with faxes and emails from agents and players wanting to come and play here.
"That said, we've built a strong core here based on hard work as well as talent and that has come from a predominantly British based pool of players.
"We've not ruled anyone out yet and we'll have a few foreign trialists in next week," he added.
