Fitzpatrick has made over 100 appearances for Motherwell

Motherwell midfielder Marc Fitzpatrick has extended his Fir Park contract until the summer of 2010.

The 22-year-old made 35 appearances last season as Well finished third in the SPL and qualified for the UEFA Cup.

"Marc was the last of the group who had played most of the games this season who hadn't had his contract upgraded," manager Mark McGhee told BBC Scotland.

"He wasn't out of contract but we've got him up to speed with the rest of the group so we're delighted."

Meanwhile, McGhee is still hopeful of keeping striker Ross McCormack at the club.

The 21-year-old, who made his Scotland debut against the Czech Republic on Friday, is out of contract this summer.

"We hope that nobody is out-going, " added McGhee. "I'm hoping to keep Ross."
