Mark McGhee said his players must improve at set-pieces
Motherwell manager Mark McGhee was left to rue his side's defending at set-pieces after the 1-0 defeat by Rangers at Ibrox.
Barry Ferguson hooked home the winner after 74 minutes when the Well defence failed to clear Steven Davis' corner.
"It keeps happening and every time you concede a corner you're in fear it's going to happen," he told BBC Sport.
"I thought the way we set ourselves out and passed the ball was excellent. It showed character and ability."
McGhee said his side failed to take their chances against Rangers, but stressed he remained confident of finishing third in the SPL and clinching a Uefa Cup spot.
"If we win against Aberdeen on Saturday, I think we've got the European place so that's what we have been focusing on.
"I'd expect Celtic and Rangers to take care of Hibs and Dundee United and that would see us over the line.
"All we have to do, hard task as it is, is win against Aberdeen on Saturday and we will be third."
