McLean has only played for five minutes this season

The 22-year-old suffered a medial ligament injury in September in what was his first game of the campaign, following a pre-season ankle problem.

"At the moment I am feeling really good," he told the club website.

"I have some aches and pains, but that is down to the fact that there was a graft from my good knee to help repair the damaged one."

McLean agreed a three-year-deal at Fir Park in April 2006 after a successful season-long loan from Rangers.

"It's really exciting to be back, after the first three months when I was banging my head against a brick wall with all the running," he added.

"As I said to some of my team mates you can do all the running you like but it's better to be doing ball work, keeping possession and marking runners.

"It's also a big thing being part of the set up once again and being involved with the lads.

"Even the manager (Maurice Malpas) is speaking to me again now that I can be of use to him again!

"Having said that the manager and Paul Hegarty have been very supportive and have also wished me all the best during the injury.

"If there are no major problems I aim to get 45 minutes to an hour in the reserve game with Rangers on 10 April, and then play the next reserve game after that and be available for selection by the end of April for the first team."
