Scott Davies went up with the Shrimps in 2007 (Morecambe FC)
Morecambe goalkeeper Scott Davies and winger Paul Lloyd have agreed new contracts with the League Two club.
Davies, 21, has signed a two-year deal while Lloyd, 21, has committed to the club for a further 12 months.
"I've never been in doubt because I really wanted to stay," Davies told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I see the club going forward and I want to be part of it so was delighted when the gaffer said he wanted me to sign a new contract."
Davies made 13 starts for the Shrimps in all competitions last season after playing a pivotal role in the Conference Play-Off final victory over Exeter at Wembley in May 2007.
I have no doubt that Scott has a big future ahead of him
Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy
Davies admitted it was a relief when Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy offered him a new deal.
"I wasn't in the team regularly until March, so up until then I was a bit nervous.," Davies continued.
"So when I got in the team I had to prove myself to show the gaffer that I wanted to be at the club next year. Thankfully I've done enough to do that and hopefully I can continue in the same vein."
McIlroy said: "I have no doubt that Scott has a big future ahead of him.
"He is still very young and still learning but he was brilliant for us at the end of last season and I am sure he'll get better and better over the next two years."
Davies will face competition from recent recruit Barry Roche.
The more competition you get the better you play

Roche arrived at Christie Park on a free transfer from Chesterfield.
"The more competition you get the better you play," said Davies.
"I started last season as number three choice, but finished playing the last 10-12 games. It makes you work harder and it'll be the same this year."
Lloyd, meanwhile, made 10 appearances last season, eight as a substitute.
But McIlroy has hinted that Lloyd may see more first-team action this coming campaign.
McIlroy said: "Paul has shown great potential in the reserves and in training although his first team chances have been limited at the moment.
"But with Garry Thompson leaving, this is the year he may get that chance and we would love him to take the opportunity when it comes along."
