Morecambe midfielder Fraser McLachlan will miss much of the season after breaking a leg in his side's Carling Cup win at Preston on Tuesday night. McLachlan, 24, was taken to hospital where it was confirmed he had suffered a fracture of the left tibia.
The former Mansfield and Stockport player has made 18 appearances for the Shrimps since signing from Mansfield.
Boss Sammy McIlroy may now look to add to his squad with Matty Blinkhorn also out and Michael Twiss a fitness doubt.
