Morecambe have been boosted by the news that leading scorer Michael Twiss has signed a new long-term contract. Twiss, 28, has agreed a deal running until June 2010 to kill off speculation of a move away from the Shrimps.
He told the club's website: "I am enjoying my football and want to be a part of this club's progress."
Twiss, who has scored 11 goals this season, started his career at Manchester United before spells at Port Vale and Chester.
