Morecambe striker Wayne Curtis has signed a new contract to keep him at the club for the next two seasons. Curtis scored 18 times last season as Morecambe finished second in the Nationwide Conference.
Conference rivals Dagenham, Chester and Hereford had all shown an interest in the 23-year-old.
But Curtis, who has scored 30 goals in 42 Conference starts, has now committed himself to the Christie Park club.
"It's very good news," said boss Jimmy Harvey.
"He's been developing very well and I think he's made the right decision for his own career.
"In the next couple of years he could really explode onto the scene here. He's had a few injuries but recently he has been fit and every time he's played he's banged in the goals for fun.
"The interest from Dagenham, Chester and Hereford should boost his confidence no end and I'm delighted that that should give us a lift."
Curtis' decision to stay will help offset the likely loss of Robbie Talbot, who looks certain to join Burton Albion.
Albion boss Nigel Clough has made an increased offer for Talbot and Harvey is resigned to losing the 23-year-old.
"He wants to go and join Burton and that being the case I am not going to stand in his way. I'm disappointed, but that's the way it is," Harvey added.
The Morecambe boss may therefore target a new striker among the "two or three" new signings he plans to make before the start of the new season.
He has already recruited Chris Lane and Dean Howell from relegated Southport and is delighted with their capture.
"They are the right age for our squad and are very good, athletic players who will contribute to the success of our team," said Harvey.
"Chris Lane is probably the best right-back in the business at this level, while Dean Howell is very quick with an excellent left foot who will do well on that side for us."
