The Milton Keynes World Cup bid contingent at Wembley
MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman believes the presentation the town made will be key in their bid to be a host if the 2018 World Cup is in England.
He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I'm proud today.
"Across Milton Keynes, from the kids to having our manager Paul Ince here, I thought we had a really professional looking bid.
"We might have started as outsiders, but as it has moved on I think we've got a really serious chance."
He continued: "I just think when you saw the contingent we came down with, the three leaders of the political parties in Milton Keynes.
"You show me one other bid city that's going to take their three political leaders down.
"The FA have given us good direction in terms of what they wanted to see and we've got a really special city in Milton Keynes. We can do things in Milton Keynes you just can't do anywhere else.
"Look at the fan-fest sites. Campbell Park sits next to our city centre.
"We could a fantastic family orientated fan-fest there. We've got the national bowl, which can take 60,000 people, very regular for the concerts, so we can manage those situations.
"We've got the grid roads which can give us our host city highways and the redways, there are some special bits of infrastructure."
Dons manager Paul Ince said: "To turn up, this morning, and see all the people from the council and everyone involved in Milton Keynes, it's even give me a bit of a buzz to be fair.
"The fact that it's a new city, geographically it's between London and Birmingham, it's easy to get in, easy to get out, and you just look at the stadium. We've had under 21 games here before and sold it out.
The game's changing, the game's evolving, and it's about having exciting times ahead and Milton Keynes is definitely that

"If we can get it, and build a third tier, that takes it to 44,000-capacity, I think. And it is a Premiership stadium. People look at tradition, and say we should go to Birmingham and Manchester, and things like that.
"But the game's changing, the game's evolving, and it's about having exciting times ahead and Milton Keynes as a city and as a stadium is definitely that."
A decision on whether the bid was successful will be announced on 16 December.
