Pidgeley was Millwall's first-choice keeper last season |
Millwall goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley will miss the rest of their tour of Scotland after breaking his big toe in training. "It was a freak accident. At this stage we don't know how long the injury will take to heal," Lions coach Kevin Dearden told the club website.
"Lenny was taking turns with Chris Day in goal with the other one challenging.
"Preston Edwards curled a cross away from Daisy - Lenny attempted to volley it goalwards when his standing foot gave way and he kicked the ground."
Millwall lost the first of their three Scottish friendlies on Saturday, going down 2-1 at Dundee.
They now face Falkirk (18 July) and Motherwell (21 July) before returning to London.
But they must now wait for clearance to see if young keeper Sam Walker, who is only 15 but stands 6ft 6ins, can feature in their friendlies.
"At the moment, the FA have told us he can't play, even though the Football League said he could," Dearden added.
"We are looking into that situation a little further."
