Wise lands Millwall job
Millwall manager Dennis Wise
Wise has had four games in charge so far
Dennis Wise has been confirmed as Millwall's player-manager after a successful spell as caretaker boss.

The 36-year-old former Chelsea and England midfielder Wise and his experienced assistant Ray Wilkins have been given contracts running to the end of next season.

Wise and Wilkins stepped into the breach following Mark McGhee's sacking in October and during four games in charge won twice, drew once and lost just once, away at Norwich on Saturday.

Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis told the club's website: "I am pleased with the appointment, it maintains continuity and allows us to continue with our stated aim of promotion to the Premiership.

"Dennis and Ray are both here until the end of next season, with Dennis also remaining a player for that period of time."

Millwall are currently in mid-table, although just one point behind sixth-placed West Ham.
