Samba set for Lions bow
Mark McGhee has promised to make rising star Cherno Samba the latest young Lion to be thrown into the first team this season.

Moses Ashikodi became the youngest player ever to play for Millwall against Brighton at the weekend, coming on as a substitute at the age of 15.

But McGhee will continue to give youth its chance with Millwall's play-offs hopes fading after a 1-0 defeat on the south coast and Samba, who once attracted interest from Leeds and Liverpool, is next in line.

"Moses is bursting with energy and he put himself ahead of one or two others who are next in line," McGhee said.

"We want to give Cherno Samba a chance.

"Before the end of the season we want to give our youngsters a flavour of the first team.

"We want them to be pushing for a place in the side by the time next season starts and now is the time to find out about them."
