Middlesbrough crowd not to blame - Boss Gordon Strachan
Strachan cannot understand why his players struggle at home
Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan believes the crowd are not to blame for the "nervousness" of his players after their 3-0 home defeat by Blackpool.
Boro came into the game on the back of a 5-1 victory at QPR, but they have struggled at the Riverside this season, managing one home win since September.
"The crowd are actually good and support the team very well," Strachan told BBC Tees.
"But there is something fundamentally wrong here and we need to find it out."
Boro have won three and lost five of their 10 home games this term, including a 5-0 defeat by West Brom.
Strachan was also keen to play down the significance of Cardiff's win over West Brom on Tuesday, a result which puts this Saturday's opponents four points above them.
"It makes no difference, it can't help us any more than it does now," said Strachan.
Middlesbrough are 10th in the Championship, 14 points behind leaders Newcastle United.
