Aliadiere returned from injury in the FA Cup win over West Ham
Jeremie Aliadiere is determined to keep Middlesbrough in the Premier League after returning from injury, starting with Saturday's game against Liverpool.
The striker tore ankle ligaments in January but made his return in the 2-0 FA Cup win against West Ham and admits securing top flight safety is a must.
He told BBC Tees: "It's an important game and I want to be fit to play.
"We want to do well because we're in the bottom three and we want to stay in this league next year."
The Frenchman, a 2m signing from Arsenal in June 2007, partnered Turkish international Tuncay in attack in midweek in a rare outing as a striker.
But Aliadiere admitted he is happy to play anywhere given his recent injury problems.
"It's not 100% (the ankle), but I didn't rush back which is why I only played sixty minutes," he added.
"It's the first game for me, I just want to help the team.
"The situation we're in we need to score goals and create chances to do that."
