Injured Arca faces two months out
Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca
Arca scored Boro's opening goal before being forced off
Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca is set for at least two months out with medial knee ligament damage.

The 26-year-old Argentine was carried off during the first half of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

But strikers Tuncay Sanli and Mido, who were also injured during the game, have a chance of playing against Everton next Sunday.

"They went for scans but there's no significant damage," Southgate told the club's website.

Tuncay went off with a shin problem while Mido struggled with his hamstring before being taken off.

Jeremie Aliadiere is already out for a month with a hamstring problem.

Boro have a Carling Cup tie against Spurs on Wednesday, with their only fit striker, Dong-Gook Lee, having scored just once for the club.

But Southgate remained positive.

"We might have to play people in different positions or change formations or give young players a chance," added the Boro boss.

"We are having a fair amount thrown at us, but we roll our sleeves up and we take the challenge on."
