Huth joined Middlesbrough from Chelsea for 6m |
Middlesbrough defender Robert Huth will miss another six weeks after tests revealed that the 22-year-old has a stress fracture of his foot. Huth sustained the injury playing against Tottenham on 5 December - and initial scans proved inconclusive.
But manager Gareth Southgate has now confirmed that the German defender has suffered a fracture.
"He is not progressing very well and it looks like he has had another setback," Southgate told the club's website.
He needs another scan but I don't expect him to be back playing for some time - certainly not in the next six weeks."
Huth joined Boro from Chelsea in August for 6m and has made six Premiership starts.
