Southgate may let players leave in January |
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is keen to add a "couple of fresh faces" to his squad when the transfer window re-opens in January. "You always want players who are hungry, ambitious and buy into where you see the club going," he told the club website.
"Bringing in a couple of fresh faces will give everyone a big lift.
"At the same time, it's important that senior players not in the first team get the chance to look elsewhere."
However, Southgate denied reports linking Brazilian midfielder Fabio Rochemback with a loan move back to former club Sporting Lisbon.
"We've heard nothing and, in any case, we're not looking to move Fabio on," he added.
"It's just specualtion as far as we're concerned."
