Viduka joined Middlesbrough from Leeds in 2004 |
Middlesbrough's Mark Viduka will be out of action for around six weeks after X-rays confirmed he had broken a toe. The Australian striker was substituted at half-time after picking up the injury in last Sunday's win over Newcastle at the Riverside.
Boro boss Gareth Southgate said: "It's disappointing for Mark and disappointing for the team because he was starting to get his sharpness back.
"But injuries are part and parcel of the game so we have to live with it."
Southgate added: "What Mark's injury does is open up opportunities for other people. It's up to those players to take them."
