Ehiogu has made 134 appearances for the club |
West Brom will not sign Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu after failing to agree personal terms with the player. Ehiogu, 33, was set to join the Baggies until he was recalled to Boro when Gareth Southgate injured his ankle.
Boro chose not to allow Ehiogu to move away on loan - and Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace said the club had now scrapped plans for an 18-month deal.
"We've done everything we can to make this deal happen but it's just not possible," he told the club's website.
"The goalposts keep being moved and enough is enough."
Ehiogu cost Boro 8m from Aston Villa in 2000 and he has made 134 appearances.
West Brom boss Bryan Robson took Ehiogu to Middlesbrough and thought he was on the brink of clinching a deal before Southgate was injured in the FA Cup tie at Nuneaton.
