Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fabio Rochemback from Barcelona. The 23-year-old has been on loan at Sporting Lisbon since 2003.
His loan at Sporting was set to run for one more year, but Boro will pay �1m to release him from the deal.
Rochemback agreed personal terms with Middlesbrough before Wednesday's midnight deadline.
While Rochemback is set to arrive at the Riverside, Boro defender Michael Reiziger has moved on a free transfer to Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.
