Middlesbrough striker Malcolm Christie has suffered a setback in his battle to regain full fitness. The 26-year-old, who broke his leg in training 10 months ago, has sustained a stress fracture in the same leg, reports BBC Radio Cleveland.
Christie had been making good progress in his recovery, coming off the bench in the second leg of Boro's Uefa Cup tie against Banik Ostrava last week.
He will now have surgery to pin the fracture and is out until Christmas.
