Ehiogu has been in fine form recently |
Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu says he is still hopeful of a Euro 2004 call-up with England. "I don't know if I will be in the squad or on stand-by or what," he was quoted in the Evening Gazette.
"When you see how many players are unavailable, you start to think that you might have a chance, but with one week to go I am none the wiser.
"It's difficult to say but obviously I want to be in and I am very hopeful of some type of call."
England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson names his initial squad on 17 May.
He is already without Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who is currently serving a long-term ban, and Newcastle's injured star Jonathan Woodgate.
Ehiogu's Boro team-mate Gareth Southgate is also a doubt with a persistent knee problem.
