Mansfield Town winger Craig Dobson believes he has found the right club to resurrect his career.
The 25-year-old suffered two serious injuries during a 14-month spell with MK Dons and he ended last season with Brentford, where he did not play.
Dobson, who has signed for three months at Field Mill, told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I've found the right place to get my football back on track.
"I moved up north, left the London lights behind to get back to football."
Dobson's time at MK Dons was particularly frustrating after joining from Stevenage Borough.
He said: "I was signed by Paul Ince and on the first day I ruptured my tendon, Roberto Di Matteo came in and they found a hairline fracture in my left shin.
"I'd never been injured before and it was a nightmare.
"I ended up without a club at the end of the season and it's taken a while."
After making his debut in the 2-1 victory at Eastbourne on Saturday, Dobson is now keen to make even more of an impression.
He said: "This is a club that should be challenging and I think will be challenging.
"The team's got a lot of big lads and it can be a bit direct, so maybe I can be a different kind of outlet and change a game, or hopefully start a game and make things happen."
