Mansfield Town are set to complete the signing of defender Asa Charlton from Conference North side Redditch United. Stags boss Peter Shirtliff moved for the 28-year-old left-back following the return of Alan Sheehan to Leicester after two months on loan at Field Mill.
Charlton, who is expected to sign until the end of the season, has been on trial with Mansfield and Shirtliff believes he can play at League level.
"We are pleased to give him this opportunity," he told Town's website.
"I think he will do well. He is a tough boy who is never fazed by anything."
