| Chris Beardsley wants to repay Mansfield's faith after they offered him a new one-year deal, which he is expected to sign this week. The 22-year-old striker missed nearly all of the 2005/06 season with an oblique fracture of his left leg. But he told the Nottingham Evening Post: "It was a relief to get the offer, and I'm aware that I have something to prove. "What I have to do now is to concentrate on proving what I can do."
