Giggs (left) and Scholes have been United team-mates for over 15 years
Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Ryan Giggs is the club's best ever player.
Having scored his 100th club goal for United last weekend, the 36-year-old is also in the running for the 2009 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
Scholes told BBC Radio Manchester: "He's the best this club has ever had, he's been fantastic to play with.
"I'm not sure he'll just be up there [with the all-time United greats], he'll be the one and only."
"To be here for 20 years and still be as strong and as fit as ever and playing as well as ever, I think he can be the only one to really stand out."
You do think about it but I'm not too sure. I'll just carrying on at the minute and see what happens come the end of the season

Scholes, however, is not as happy with his own form and does not believe he is having as much of an impact on the team as Giggs.
"I preferred it when I was playing more often and scoring a lot more goals. It's different now, I only play once every two or three weeks.
"You have to be okay with that, you haven't got a choice. Players want to play every week but I know now that can't always happen."
At the age of 35, a year younger than Giggs, Scholes also hinted that he might be considering retirement.
"You do think about it but I'm not too sure. I'll just carrying on at the minute and see what happens come the end of the season".
