United won 7-1 in the second leg of the quarter-finals last season and the two have been drawn together once more in this season's last eight.

"We've had some good results against them but that will mean nothing now," Fletcher told BBC Radio Manchester.

"They'll be looking to avenge the result in last year's quarter-final."

He added: "Everyone remembers the game at Old Trafford but everything went for us."

Although Fletcher is confident, he is not expecting a repeat.

"I'm sure these games won't be anything like that. We'll give Roma all the respect they deserve and it's a massive game.

"Roma performed fantastically to beat Real Madrid to get to this stage.

"I don't think they're in contention in Serie A so their focus this year is definitely on the Champions League."
