Manchester United defender Danny Simpson has committed himself to the club by signing a new deal until 2010. The 20-year-old full-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland and has since forced his way into the first-team squad at United.
Simpson became Black Cats boss Roy Keane's first-choice right back, making 14 appearances as Sunderland went up.
The former United scholar also spent the first four months of last season on loan at Royal Antwerp in Belgium.
