Ferguson took over at Man Utd from Ron Atkinson in 1986 |
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says he has not even thought about when he might retire. Ferguson, 65, had decided to call it a day in 2002 but reversed his decision and has just led United to their ninth Premiership title.
"There will be a time when I retire but when that is I have no idea," Ferguson told Manchester radio station Key 103.
"My health is a consideration without question. But I feel good and that is the determining factor to carry on."
Ferguson will embark upon his 21st season as United manager in August and says the club's young players help to keep him hungry for success.
"Young people help you and I've got some good young players at the club, and good personalities," added the Scot.
"Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are fun to watch in training with all their tricks and their double act, and I think that helps keep you young."
Ferguson has already signed Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves for a combined total of between 40m-50m since the transfer window re-opened.
