O'Shea sustained the injury in United's 1-0 win over Liverpool |
Manchester United defender John O'Shea staked a claim for a Carling Cup final place with a run-out for the reserves on Tuesday night. O'Shea had been sidelined since breaking two ribs in last month's 1-0 Premiership win over Liverpool.
But the Republic of Ireland utility man played 63 minutes of the reserves' 4-1 defeat of Everton on Tuesday night.
Craig Fagan replaced him and scored United's fourth goal after two from Giuseppe Rossi.
Mark Howard had put the visitors 3-0 up before Paul Hopkins pulled one back for the Toffees.
