Ribery is an attacking threat with his trickery and pace

"Our interest is to keep Franck Ribery for another season," Marseille chairman Pape Diouf told the club's website.

"I've told that to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas but I know he's stubborn and will keep trying.

"Manchester United representatives have also approached us and we told them the same thing, which is that Franck Ribery is not for sale."

Ribery's form last season has seen him chosen for France's squad for the World Cup in Germany.

He won his first two international caps in the wins over Mexico and Denmark in France's warm-up games for this summer's finals.
